Generosity Campaign -

Dear Members of Jordan Creek Church,

Last Sunday, was the beginning of our week long stewardship campaign that is held each year. In our yearly campaign we learn of our financial needs, we reflect on our individual current giving, and we make a pledge or an “estimate” of what we will now give financially toward the work of the church. The church leadership will use this ‘estimate of giving’ to create their budget and make sound financial decisions for the rest of 2009, and for the year 2010.

The economic down-turn that has impacted our world, our community, and our families, now also has impacted Jordan Creek Church. We have made significant reductions to our spending in many areas since March of this year, and must continue to cut our expenses unless income (giving) increases.

The current assessment, repared by Phil Akason, our church treasurer is sobering and challenging as it accurately reflects our financial needs. Each one of us as members is called to pray and consider how we can help the church.

(If you would like a copy of the Church Treasurers’s assessment that was made available to members of Jordan Creek Church, please email yoru request to the JCC Treasurer & Finance Team at: generosity@jordancreekchurch.org )

What is your responsibility in the annual stewardship campaign?

1) Pray.  Pray daily for God to help you know how much you can now honestly commit to faithfully give each month

2) Consider:

• Estimate the amount of money you will begin to give weekly to the church, beginning now and through 2010. (Considering your current circumstances)

• Consider something special in your giving, i.e., a one time extra donation to help your church end the year in the black and establish a financial cushion for unseen emergency or repair needs. (Those of you who attended Financial Peace University will call this the emergency fund)

3) Prayerfully complete and turn-in your Estimate of Giving Form. These forms will immediately be processed so we can access our true situation. Never has a response been so important. You can complete an online Estimate of Giving Form on the Jordan Creek Church Website CLICK HERE.  Go to the “2009-2010 Commitment Sheet” and submit it when completed. You can also download an Estimate Giving Form online CLICK HERE. You can then complete the form and EMAIL it back to the Finance Team or you can print it and drop it by the Church office, mail it, or place it in the offering plate next Sunday.

4) Join us next Sunday for our celebration and commitment service on “Being known by our Generosity and Prayer.”

The Bible gives us numerous verses on stewardship and generosity; my favorite is Luke 6:38: The measure you give is the measure you get; pressed down, shaken together, and running over!

We serve an awesome, generous Lord.

Thank you for the multitude of gifts you give in service and love in your personal ministries and daily good works!

If you have any questions or ideas, please share them with the finance team and the pastor by emailing: generosity@jordancreekchurch.org . We will attempt to answer all questions in a timely manner.

Yours in Christ,

Pastor Phil Dicks
