We hope this message finds you and your family well in the midst of the current complexity surrounding the effects of the Covid-19 virus. JCC believes that life is meant to be lived together. With that in mind, we feel that we can best come alongside each of you in your faith journey by gathering for corporate worship, celebrating with our missional communities, and diving deeper with our DNA groups.
Our desire is to continue to provide a sense of encouragement, hope, and worship in the midst of the uncertainty and sense of loss with which we all continue to wrestle. This is a constantly evolving topic, and we understand there are a spectrum of emotions being experienced.
Our aim is to meet in-person on Sundays, with diligent adherence around keeping our gatherings safe:
• We will create extra social distance in our seating arrangement, skipping rows between available seating.
• A marked seating section will be reserved for higher risk populations (65+, compromised immune systems, etc.)
• Masks are required throughout the totality of the service
• Focus will be put on limiting "touches" for various surfaces (ex: greeters will open doors as you enter, coffee will not be served)
• Hand sanitizer will be visible and made available
Programming for JCKids will be scheduled based on optimizing classroom size with our pool of volunteers. Please note the following changes and precautions:
• Screening will take place before checking in (temperature, questions regarding recent health, etc)
• Kids ages 2 and up will be required to wear masks
• Greeters will aid in check-ins, and will be the only ones to touch the iPads
• Hand sanitizer will be available at each table and entry point
• Toys and supplies will be disinfected frequently and thoroughly after each service
• Social distancing will be encouraged by spreading out in kids rooms, limiting 2 children to each table, not sharing toys, etc.
• Masks will be worn by all hands-on teachers and volunteers
JCC will be responsible for cleaning our facilities (auditorium, restrooms, lobby, door handles, etc.) and equipment (media equipment, tables, etc.) with recommended cleaning materials as outlined by the CDC for Community and Faith-Based Organizations, but we do ask the following of each of you:
• Stay home if you are feeling sick or exhibiting any symptoms
• Wash hands with soap and water for 20 seconds
• Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands
• Cover your coughs/sneezes with a tissue or the inside of your elbow
• Practice social distancing while visiting our facilities
• Please socialize outside the building before and after the service
Much time and effort has been invested to create a safe, healthy, and comfortable environment as we move forward, and the list above is constantly evolving. We will continue to evaluate decisions on a weekly basis and communicate with you via email if changes are be made that affect our current plans. If you are not receiving emails from JCC, please reach out on our website to get connected.
For those of you who may be uncomfortable or unavailable to meet in person at this time, please know that you are loved! Audio of our services will still be made available on our website, and we ask that you share your continued desire to worship at home with us so that we can remain in touch with you virtually. Similarly, if you have safety concerns that you do not see addressed above, feel free to share them via email so we can consider additional ways to make everyone feel safe.
Thank you for your engagement and commitment to what God is doing through our church family. We affirm and remind ourselves that He remains in control. We have found encouragement in Jesus' words to His disciples at the conclusion of the Last Supper: "I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have trouble. But take heart, I have overcome the world." John 16:33
Peace to all of you,
JCC Elders
